Spa Travel Barcelona

Barcelona is a fabulous city. Take a short break in Barcelona and be prepared to lose your heart to this wonderful Spanish city.

Barcelona is a city that effortlessly manages to combine old and new. It is vibrant and cosmopolitan with an authentic Catalan charm. It is no wonder that Freddie Mercury paid homage to Barcelona in his famous song - this is a city with a real magical air.

So what makes Barcelona so special? Well, for a start, the atmospheric medieval centre with its many excellent bars and restaurants will definitely keep you busy. Whether you want to enjoy a coffee and a spot of people watching or a five course meal in an excellent restaurant, you can do so in style in Barcelona. In terms of food, tapas is the order of the day here, with endless restaurants offering up a variety of tasty nibbles and morsels.

When you can pull yourself away from its culinary delights, Barcelona is awash with sightseeing opportunities. The architecture around the city is incredible and simply cries out to be explored. Take a look at Gaudi's unfinished cathedral, La Sagrada Familia. Parc Guell also offers up some fascinating architecture and you can view more of Gaudi's work. There are also plenty of museums and art galleries to keep you busy.

If you're a football fan, a tour of the incredible Camp Nou football stadium is a must - this stadium has seen some big name players.

Street entertainers prevail in Las Ramblas - always an entertaining place to while away an hour or two! Shopaholics will also be in their element in Barcelona - there are plenty of elegant boutiques just waiting for your perusal!

And what you may not necessarily realise about Barcelona is that the city is home to five beaches, so be sure to pack your beach attire! Barceloneta is the beach closest to the city centre and as a result it is quite busy, but it is a great place for a spot of people watching! Bogatell beach is a little quieter.

There are some great hotels in Barcelona, many offering excellent spa facilities. Combining a city break with an indulgent spa package adds a touch of luxury to your break and means that you will be wonderfully relaxed and rejuvenated on your return!
